There is plenty of water activities to do in and around Swellendam. As Swellendam is located on the foot of the Langeberg Mountains, it allows for many waterfalls, rock-pools, and rivers. Some of these pools take a small hike to get there, but once you are there it will be all worth it. If you do not feel like hiking to get to the water there is also lovely places that is much easier to access, by car or by boat.

The Bontebok National Park 5 km outside of Swellendam is a lovely place to go see wildlife, go for a hike or mountain biking, but most of all to enjoy a picnic and swim in the magnificent Breede River.
