We are fortunate to be strategically located at the gateway to the Garden Route, the Small Karoo as well as the sandy beaches of the Southern Cape. Scenic day trips can be taken to these destinations.
Day Trip 1 – Barrydale (Small Karoo) This is a very famous R62 day trip. From Swellendam you drive through a small machinery town called Suurbraak, then take the Tradouws Pass towards Barrydale. This town has interesting art galleries (Magpie Art Gallery) and restaurants (Diesel and Crème) or wine tasting at Joubert Tradauw Wine Estate.

Day Trip 2 – (Robbertson Wine Route) The Robertson Wine Valley covers the Ashton/Montagu/Bonnievale area. This region alone has a varieties of top class wineries, like Van Loveren, Viljoensdrift, Excelsior and Springfield.
Day Trip 3 – Cape Agulhas (The most southern point of the continent of Africa) Where the Indian and the Atlantic Ocean meets. The town of L’Agulhas boasts the second oldest lighthouse in the country, built in 1848. This day trip includes coastal towns such as Struisbaai with its beautiful beaches and Arnitson with its unique fishermen’s cottages.
Day Trip 4 – De Hoop (Whale Watching) is one of the largest natural conservation areas managed by Cape Nature. This beautiful reserve is a favourite for hikers, cyclists, bird and whale watchers. The activities offered are endless you can choose between various day walks, mountain biking, game drives or just lazing by the beach.
